“This is the second rendition of a painting that was lost in the Lahaina fire. This one is a lot darker, desperate, painful, and feels a bit like you’re underwater. The photograph that inspired this painting was taken by @juliakuulani and commemorates a lost loved one. Now this painting also commemorates a place I loved, people I miss, and a part of me I’m scared I’ll lose. Lahaina gave me more than I could have asked for.”
